Courtney Shea began Taekwondo at Yu’s Martial Arts in 1998, and received her 1st dan black belt in 2007. After competing for the UC Davis Taekwondo team, she came back to the Lamorinda area in 2013 and returned to Yu’s to teach and continue training. She received her 2nd Dan in October 2018. Along with Taekwondo, she also enjoys a variety of other sports - volleyball, basketball, and recently discovered Gaelic football. Outside of teaching, she’s preparing for graduate school in nursing.
Alyssa Wixsom joined Diablo Martial Arts when she was eight years old in 2004. She received her 1st dan black belt in 2012 and her 2nd Dan in 2019. Alyssa recently graduated from Northeastern University with a degree in International Business. Alyssa likes to work with students of all ages and her favorite part of teaching is seeing their self-confidence grow. Outside of Tae Kwon Do, she enjoys running, finding new foods to eat, and traveling.
